Granite is formed deep in the earth’s mantle at extremely high temperatures, and is a very hard, resistant stone made of crystallized minerals. It is made up primarily of quartz, feldspar, mica, and various other minerals. This combination results in a stone that is extremely scratch-proof, heat resistant up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, and nearly indestructible.
